Not recommended for electronics work. Vaseline (petroleum jelly) isn't a proper soldering flux — it lacks the chemical activity needed to clean oxidation from the joint surface and help solder flow and bond correctly. Using it risks a poor, unreliable joint. Use a proper rosin-core solder or a dedicated flux paste/pen instead — both are inexpensive and widely available, and actually do the chemical job flux is meant to do.
